I can’t believe week 1 for the final is over. Now, week 2 starts with a new studying blog: foXnoMad – Travel Smarter.

The blogger’s name is Anil Polat, who is also a computer security engineer, has been traveling around the world for the past seven years, and visiting about 90 countries already. He started this blog as a way to share the tips and tech other can use to travel smarter.

I like one of his blog set up is the page “Countries”. When I click on the page, there is a Worldwide google map on the page, marked with purple camera symbol for the placed he has eaten and stayed since he started blogging. When I click each purple camera, there is a certain place-name showed on the left of the map, with the introduction of this place, such as if it is a restaurant, it shows what type of food it serves. There is a link underneath the introduction titled with “Read my full review of …”. When I click the link, it brings me back to the post he wrote about this place in his blog. Very neat! So I can easy to find the place I am interested and read his full review of this place without going anywhere else. He also listed every country he has been under the map, grouped by different continent. This way the reader can click the county’s name and find all his posts about this country. I love the way he organizes his blog post and the location on the map.

When I click his “Blog” page, I scroll down to the bottom of the page, it shows there is a total of 425 pages of his blog. Oh my goodness, 425 pages! It is impossible for me to go through 425 pages to check out all of his posts! Even he used two more categories of “Daily Deals” and “Tech Gear I Use” to group some of the posts out of the main blog, it is still a massive amount of posts about his travel. I feel a little bit overwhelmed to turn page by page to find some tips of the travel I am interested in. It feels like when I go to a second-hand store shopping. I go to the women’s clothes section, all the women clothes hanging up together. I have to go through piece by piece to find one clothes that are my size, and the style I like. It takes me much longer time than I go shopping in the department store. I just only go directly to the brand section, find my size, done!

I found this cool tip on page 4, the title is “Kayak Explore Lets You See How Much It Costs To Fly From Home To Anywhere“. This Kayak Explore lets you see the price of air tickets anywhere around the world. If you don’t know where you plan to go, and how much it’ll cost for the air travel, you may come here to find out some deals, and maybe you could make up your mind where you want to go. Budget is always a good thing to know before you start your travel plan. Thank you, Anil for this cool tip!

Well, I don’t have time to dig more of his blog. I wish I could learn more from his travel experience. I think I definitely will come backchecking more tips in the future when I have plenty of time. See you!
